My Review: 4 Stars
Trin runs a successful Bed and Breakfast in Alabama. When her boss's son, Zander, comes to stay, she's worried about her future. Zander is back near the place where his mother was murdered years earlier and he's had a hard time coming to terms with her death, escaping through alcohol and now Ironman competitions. Trin is determined to help him, while leaving her heart intact, but it's harder than it seems.
Trin and Zander have an undeniable, zingy connection that leaves a reader breathless. They each have many issues to work through and are both stubborn in their own ways. I love how imperfect they are because it makes them more likable and easier to relate to. Although Zander has had a pretty charmed life, he's not all money and good looks. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty and the times when he works with Moriah and Trin are memorable. Trin has had to work hard to be where she is now and I love how much she loves her job! Good friends, good food, good romance, and good times really drive this story. The setting is fantastic, as are the fun and friendly characters. Even the perilous moments are well done.
I love the cover so much--it's gorgeous! But I felt the ending was a little rushed, especially through the Christmas season, as the cover suggests that it's a holiday story. I wanted more Christmas magic, but maybe that's because I'm sitting here in December.
Content: mild romance (kissing); talk of past alcohol abuse; mild violence (an attempted attack and talk of past murder).
*I received a copy from the author. I voluntarily reviewed this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.*
