About the Author

The most important thing to know about me is that I'm basically a sixteen-year-old trapped in an adult's body. It's why I feel such a great connection to all of my characters and why I love to write romantic comedy. The kid in me just wants to be goofy. Besides being a writer; I'm a wife, mother of five, volleyball enthusiast and home decorating guru. My list of favorites includes: reading, Christmas, pedicures, dessert, steak, Arizona winters and most importantly, Diet Coke.

Caught Kissing the Cowboy (A Return to Snow Valley Romance) by Cindy Roland Anderson

She was caught kissing the wrong cowboy…or was he Mr. Right?

Tomi Jensen thought she’d landed the ultimate role when she was cast opposite of her Hollywood crush, Jake Kelley. It only took a few weeks of working with the self-absorbed actor to make her regret ever taking the part. When the film location for Whisper Falls changes to Snow Valley, Montana, Tomi is determined to finish filming so she can move onto bigger and better things. Throwing herself into her role as a small-town veterinarian, she shadows Dr. Ian Davies, the local vet her sister has been trying to set her up with for the past year. While Ian is single, extremely good-looking, and nice to old ladies and children, Tomi isn’t looking to fall in love, especially with a man who never plans to leave his hometown. But spending two weeks with the hot cowboy complicates everything, and soon Tomi’s dream of becoming an A-list actress starts to fade into the background as she and Ian grow closer. Still, when an opportunity for a bigger role comes her way, Tomi needs to decide what she wants more…living in the limelight or living with true love.
My Review: 5 Stars

It's no secret that I love a fun celebrity story and this one has the roles reversed from the usual tale. Tomi is an actress and has come to Snow Valley (her sister's new hometown) to film. She has to shadow Ian for her role as a vet and the sparks instantly ignite.

There are a few fictional locations that I feel right at home in and wish that I could visit, or even live in, and Snow Valley is one of those places for me. I love how each story incorporates characters from previous books in the series and I feel like I have a lot of dear, sweet friends now.

Both Ian and Tomi have no intentions of getting together, despite her sister's wishes, but they just can't deny, nor stay away from the electrical currents flowing between the two of them. I think I almost got shocked a few times from the intoxicating zips of romance zinging between them. I loved how they adapted to their directions in life and to their individual dreams.

This is a delightful fluff read and I enjoyed every delicious minute of it.

A dedicated romantic, a spurned cowboy, and the pact that keeps them apart.
Harley Redland vowed at age twelve to marry a man as debonair as Mr. Darcy. Too bad she's in love with her older brother's best friend, Crew Harrison.
Harley's dreams are about to come true when she's accepted into Cambridge for her master's program. When she gets the call to come home to Wyoming because her father is dying, her world completely falls apart.
Crew Harrison has known all his life that Harley Redland is the one for him. If only he can convince her he is as charming, educated, and romantic as any Jane Austen hero. When she gets off the plane, she's hanging on the arm of her dream Englishman and he just knows she'll never see him as anything but a hick cowboy.

Can these two overcome pride and prejudices to find the love that's always been in front of them?
My Review: 4 Stars

I'm a pretty stubborn person at times (just ask my husband), but Harley wins the award for sure! She made a pact when she was 12 at a camp that she was going to go to England and marry a debonair man and nothing can deter her from her dreams.

I completely understand about following your passions and your dreams and being proactive to make them come true, but sometimes we things change and we must alter our plans a little and Harley is more resistant than a mule.

Hands down, Crew stole the show for me. I don't know that there's a more confident, patient, chivalrous, and charming man in the West and I just wanted Harley to fully open her eyes for one complete minute.

All that said, I loved the swoon and chemistry between these two. I adored how loyal and patient Crew was with Harley. I enjoyed the connections between the West and Jane Austen. And the relationship with her family was so sweet and endearing. This is a book that will make you want to throw your Kindle across the room, swoon at the sweet moments, and even shed a tear or two.

Cover Reveal: Lies We Tell Ourselves by Amy Matayo

Lies We Tell Ourselves
by Amy Matayo
***Coming Sept 20, 2018***
Presley Waterman is a rescuer: of animals, of businesses, of people. Like the stray cat she's allergic to, but continues to care for. Like her small-town newspaper, a business that’s been dying a slow death for the better part of a decade. And like Micah. Her best friend and the man she has loved since they were kids, back when no one else cared.
As for him…
Micah Leven loves Presley. She’s the girl who’s always been there to help, the one who knows all the ugly things about him and makes him believe he can be a better man, the one who will never leave because she’s promised over and over.
But he also loves Mara.
Mara is his ideal. She’s the dream he conjured up as a boy and never wavered from. She’s beautiful, ambitious, driven, a fellow newscaster at his Atlanta station, and the perfect asset for the life he’s always wanted. Together, they could conquer the world and their respective careers. Even better, with Mara he could prove that he did—in fact—finally amount to something. Maybe then his father would be proud.
There are just a few things Presley and Micah have both forgotten. One, just because you rescue someone doesn’t mean they’ll love you for it. Two, some dreams disappear when reality wakes you up. Three, the only way to silence lies is to face the truth head-on.
This is the story of the man torn between two existences, the woman who finally took the choice away from him, and what happens when you stop listening to lies once and for all.
Even if the biggest liar is you.

Flower Boy: noun 1. slang for a really hot guy

Hannah Reynolds travels to Korea in search of her own drama hero come to life. What she gets instead is gorgeous, but surly tour guide, Jae Lee. He seems determined to ruin every romantic location they visit with his snarky comments, but Hannah can’t deny the crackling tension between them.

As they travel around the country with a busload of wacky K-drama and K-pop fans, their chemistry keeps drawing the two together. Hannah sees the mountain of problems standing between her and a relationship with Jae. They live in different countries. She’s flying home in five days. And he always takes an emotional step back whenever they get closer. But her heart doesn’t want to listen to reason. All it can see is the flower boy tour guide.
My Review: 5 Stars

Shannon Kent--you have changed my world! I've read a few K-Pop books recently and I'm slowly learning more about this addictive, fascinating world of Korean culture. I love that Hannah has such a passion for the Korean dramas and goes to Korea to make her dreams come true. Life is short, so live it, right? And boy, does she find her dreams--in the form of a standoffish hero, Jae.

Hannah is such a fun character, and so is pretty much everyone on the bus. Well, except for Jae. That man hides his feelings better than a pirate hides his loot. The Dallas girls, Hannah's new soul friend... I found myself waffling between a swoon and a smile with every chapter with the crazy adventures and antics of these characters. I wish I could be more like her and roll with the embarrassing moments, speak my heart, and live life to the fullest. And above all, I'm thinking that I need to dive a little deeper into this interesting phenomenon.

She's fallen for a human,
but how can you love one man while stealing another?

Narissa's not just any mermaid. She's a siren.

She has the power to lure men into the sea, but all she wants is to live peacefully with them on land. Unfortunately, the mers are evolving and they're depending on her for human mates to keep their bloodlines pure.

Rebellion burns in Narissa's heart, especially when her mother commands her to do her duty and return to the depths. She knows a way out, but asking a favor of Poseidon is too great a risk.

When she falls for River, a man who makes her feel wanted and whole, she decides it's worth the risk. But her choice pulls River unwillingly into her world where greedy mermaids hunt, seas rage, monsters lurk...

And her enemy controls them all.

Can she save her people without losing the man she loves?
My Review: 5 Stars
Sold! I am sold on this series! Mermaids are so fascinating, but one with a siren's power is even more so. I absolutely fell in love with this story and with the author's creative way of incorporating mermaids into a modern world, which opened up my mind and imagination to hundreds of possibilities. And this cover is as gorgeous as the book!

Set in Florida, the tropical setting lured my interest from the start and the murky, shadowy world of the mers was a little disconcerting. Pennington does a fantastic job of establishing fears, love, and emotion with this tale.

One of the things that I loved best about this book was the characters. Narissa is a sweet, spunky girl and her passion and selflessness really resonated with me. River is utterly charming and persistent, and his protective nature bound him to my heart. The whole cast of supporting characters were vivid and lifelike. The romance has a touch of sorrow woven through the swoon and it really grabbed me in its clutches. I was definitely swooning!

This is one book that I couldn't read fast enough and I'm SO happy it's the start of a new trilogy because I'm ready for more.

Jack Bentley’s life fractured into jagged shards of pain and loneliness four months ago when his wife’s car plunged into the Snake River. Still reeling from the loss of his wife and infant son, Jack finds his world shaken again when he sees the ghost of his wife, Gina. But the truth she tells him changes everything: their son didn't drown with her.

Now, Jack must find his son before he slips away forever. Haunted by loss and his wife's plea, Jack finds himself diving into a mystery deeper than the river's swift current. No power on Earth can reunite him with his little boy—and even help from beyond the grave may not be enough to bring Jack's son back.
My Review: 5 Stars
Can you imagine finding out months later that your young son really didn't die in the car accident that claimed your wife? That's what happened to Jack and the way he found out was unbelievable to some.

I was completely caught up in this story and did not want to put it down. Between the mystery that is growing daily and the suspense that had me on edge, I flew through the book, even setting aside another one that I was reading.

Jack isn't a complicated character. In fact, he's pretty average, but he won't stop at anything to find his son and exhibits a lot of perseverance, creativity, and love. These characteristics really rooted him into my heart and had me cheering him on. I also enjoyed the romance that blossomed in the midst of this crisis.

This book had a feeling about it that something like this could really happen and the writing powerfully displayed this possible reality.

Can love overcome the tragic past between a hired bridesmaid and an FBI Agent?

Chloe Romano is a good FBI Agent even though she fights a deep attraction to her team leader, the gorgeous Liam Esposito. Fraternizing with her boss is strictly forbidden, and their feelings for each other have to remain a secret longing.

When an FBI sting operation goes horribly wrong, Chloe's feelings for Liam become tangled with grief when she learns that he was the one that left her best friend behind to die.

After resigning from the FBI, Chloe launches a bridesmaid-for-hire business. As a personal assistant for brides suffering wedding melt-downs, Chloe loses herself in her new career--until the day Liam Esposito shows up out of the blue. Liam needs Chloe's help in stopping a diamond heist at her wealthy cousin's wedding. Old feelings resurface when Chloe is drawn to Liam's charm, strength, and intelligence.

Wedding party suspects are everywhere, but can Chloe save her cousin from the ultimate bridal melt-down when it looks like the groom is the culprit?

Most importantly, is Chloe brave enough to learn the truth and give Liam and their love a second chance?
My Review: 4 Stars

I'm always a fan of a suspense that keeps me guessing and this one did just that. Don't get me wrong--there was plenty of light-hearted romance and fun, but that element of mystery was just the right amount to really add an interesting dimension to the story.

Chloe is perfect for this new job, since she's a former FBI agent and is now a professional bridesmaid. Her cousin is getting married and Chloe's skills are needed to protect some expensive diamonds from being stolen. Chloe is capable, resilient, and strong and just the right person to calm any wedding jitters.

Liam is a big part of the reason why Chloe left the FBI and he's now on the scene again. I don't know how that girl could resist his charms, but she somehow does, although their interactions ooze a delightfully resistant chemistry.

I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of wedding plans, mystery, danger, and swoon and especially loved the culmination of it all.

Cecily has always had a huge crush on singer Andrew Holiday and she wants to be an actress, so she tags along when her friend auditions for his new video. However, the director isn’t looking for an actress, but rather the girl next door—and so is Andrew. Cecily gets a part in the video and all of Andrew’s attention on the set. Her friend begins to see red and Cecily’s boyfriend is seeing green—as in major jealousy. A misunderstanding leaves Cecily and her boyfriend on the outs and Andrew hopes to pick up the pieces as he’s looking for someone more stable in his life than the models he’s dated. Soon Cecily begins to realize Andrew understands her more than her small-town boyfriend—but can her perfect love match really be her favorite rock star?

My Review: 4 Stars

I'm so excited for the start of a new series by this author! Hager has a way of really flinging me back into the throes of high school life again, but this time around is a lot more enjoyable.

I always used to wonder what I would do if I was lucky enough to meet my teen idol--would I fangirl? Would I faint? Would I make a fool out of myself? Yeah, probably that last one... Cecily has the perfect boyfriend, but when the chance arises to go with a friend to audition for a new music video being filmed in the area, she takes it, and finds herself cast as well.

Cecily handles her life and its unpredictable situations better than a lot of teenagers would, yet she still shows some jealousy, insecurity, and lack of communication skills, which makes her easy to relate to, instead of someone to envy--she's only human! I loved being drawn into her drama and her life and enjoyed the way this life triangle (of sorts) was handled. This is a great escape book and I'm going to be watching out for the next book in the series. I want more of Cecily!

Anna the Prophetess is the dramatic chronicle of the only woman to be called a prophetess in the Gospels. When Anna’s great-niece Julia is exiled to Jerusalem as punishment for her refusal to marry a man old enough to be her father, Anna shares the story of her early days of courtship with her husband. Although Julia’s parents admonished her to observe firsthand how lonely Anna’s life is, Julia instead discovers that her great-aunt’s life is far from lonely—it is full of love, peace, and incredible faith. As Anna shares her unwavering testimony of the coming Messiah with her great-niece, these two faithful women are changed forever as they seek the Lord’s will in their lives and joyfully witness the long-awaited miracles of Christ’s birth.
My Review: 5 Stars

The story of Anna isn't a very long one. I was very curious to see how Moore would take this snippet from the Bible and turn it into a novel. I loved the way she used a fictional character, Julia, to help the reader come to know the story in a firsthand way.

Moore always does a great job of writing relatable characters living in believable circumstances. Hope and faithfulness really shine through the words and give the reader something to think about, along with being entertained by a fascinating character.

I really enjoyed the tale and loved seeing the small miracles that accompanied the book's progression.

Veterinarian Wade Roberts is done with love. But try convincing the elderly folk of Cape Harmony who are determined to play matchmaker. Now the young single women in town are bombarding him with baked goods and love notes, and being “taken” is the only way to stop the meddling grannies—which is why he needs a fake fiancée. Fast.

Arden Pearson loves planning weddings. Other people's weddings, that is. After her own engagement ended in disaster, she prefers to live vicariously through her work. But when she needs to persuade a big client that she’s capable of planning the celebrity wedding of the year, she’s willing to go as far as pretending to be engaged herself to her best friend’s older brother.

Soon their ruse has everyone in town believing they make the perfect couple—including Arden. She’s always been nothing more than a kid sister to Wade, and it might take a village to convince him otherwise...

My Review: 5 Stars

Wade has been shattered by love before and isn't in any hurry to find love again, much to the dismay of the meddling menagerie of women in town. These women cracked me up! From Judy at the coffee shop, who only hears what she wants to hear, to the ladies bringing in "sick" pets to the clinic and leaving food on his doorstep, there are a lot of laughs brought to the reader by these ladies. Wade is the hot, but nerdy, vet in town and isn't safe from anyone's advances.

Arden, Wade's younger sister's best friend, has also been crushed by love, in a completely different way, and is content in planning the best weddings of the year with her business. I would die to see some of the weddings she plans--they sound so unique and perfect for each bride.

Obviously, a fake relationship is proposed to simplify and benefit both of their lives, but who can tell the heart how to feel? A fake relationship, with some prior sparks and chemistry, is one of my favorites and this one definitely delivered. I loved the swoon and sass with each interaction, especially as they tried to convince the town (and each other) that they were committed. Wade and Arden are strong and self confident characters, but have just a touch of marshmallow that really melt the heart. I loved the whole setting and premise and hope there's more coming in the "Accidentally in Love" series.

Content: steamy clean romance (the couple does have sex, but everything is behind closed doors); some innuendo; mild-moderate language
