Talking to other people isn't Kate Bailey's favorite activity. She'd much rather be out on the lake, soaking up the solitude and sunshine. So when her best friend, Alana, convinces Kate to join their high school's podcast, Kate is not expecting to be chosen as the host. Now she'll have to answer calls and give advice on the air? Impossible.

But to Kate's surprise, she turns out to be pretty good at the hosting gig. Then the podcast gets in a call from an anonymous guy, asking for advice about his unnamed crush. Kate is pretty sure that the caller is gorgeous Diego Martinez, and even surer that the girl in question is Alana. Kate is excited for her friend ... until Kate herself starts to develop feelings for Diego. Suddenly, Kate finds that while doling out wisdom to others may be easy, asking for help is tougher than it looks, and following your own advice is even harder.

Kasie West's adorable story of secrets, love, and friendship is sure to win over hearts everywhere.

My Review: 5 Stars

Kasie West is a treat for me to read because the way she writes transports me back in time and really captures my heart. Her sweet YA romances are so adorable, fluffy, and pure entertainment.

Kate is obsessed with the lake and has no interest in anything else. She has to stretch and grow when she is chosen to co-host her school's podcast and I love the way she becomes more aware of those around her, develops compassion, and discovers new talents. Although she gradually becomes self-aware through the course of the story, she remains completely clueless in matters of the heart and in a weird way, I find that very refreshing. Hormones do not rule this girl!

I loved the vivid characters and could feel their feelings, frustrations, and joys coming through the words, even though this book skims the surface. I could picture the lake and surrounding areas, and could almost feel that breeze on my face. I love how sensitive topics were touched on and would love to really listen to this podcast in real life. This book was like taking a satisfying vacation, even with the school parts thrown in.

Content: mild romance; mild violence
