My Review: 5 Stars
Some of my fondest Christmas memories come from when I was in high school, but there's no way I'd go back again. This story almost sent me right back and it made me feel awkward, anxious, and self-conscious, but it was so much fun!
Raise your hand if you had a crush on a friend back in the day. Quinn has been half in love with her friend, Micah, since he moved in. When his girlfriend dumps him, she wonders if she has a chance, but events leave her confused, plans go awry, and her emotions are a mess. The feelings expressed are real, people. I felt my hopes rise, only to have them dashed; I found my curiosity bursting, only to have it left unresolved; and I felt myself soaring with happiness.
Quinn is a pretty independent girl, yet she hasn't quite matured yet. I love the way she tries to figure life out and comes to some pretty good conclusions. Relationships are pretty important to me and Quinn has a fantastic relationship with her mother and younger brother. Micah has been there for her and change is hard, but when she decides to step up and figure things out, the results push her out of her comfort zone, which causes character growth.
This is a great feel-good Christmas story that really brings back those "young love" and "first crush" feelings and the characters are crush-worthy.
Content: mild language; mild romance.
