I love the premise--an author falls for her main character, hence, falls for the cover model. Brilliant! Who hasn't had a little crush on a fictional character before?

Maren was lucky enough to go to the photo shoot for her book and ends up going on an enchanted date with Colin, the cover model. Almost a whole year has passed and she can't quit thinking about that open-ended invitation sent via postcard--a chance to go to his family's abandoned farmhouse to write. She could definitely use some inspiration for her next book, right about now. A spur-of-the-moment decision lands her trying to get into the farmhouse--but it's not really abandoned. Colin's older brother, Drew, is now making a go of the farm.

I love the way Maren interjects runaway thoughts to the readers, as if this is a play or a movie. She's such a creative, yet serious, yet humorous character--one who is very endearing. She often surprised me by her words, actions, and reactions.

 Drew is a sturdy, stable, responsible character and takes his role in the family and community seriously. Colin is flighty, fun, and fickle--the opposite of Drew--but has an important role in the story. I loved their sister, Leigh, who has been down on her luck until now, as well as her daughter, Winnie. Such great characters, a quirky small town, and a magical setting during an enchanting time of year. I can't wait to read more about this family and this town!

Content: mild romantic elements (kissing, very vague implication of something from the past). Clean!
