My Review:

 

One day, I'd love to go to New York City during the holidays and see the huge tree at Rockefeller Center. I've seen pictures of it and have seen it on tv, but I'm sure it's much more glorious in person. I've never really given much thought about where they find a tree of that size each year and how they determine the perfect tree, but this story gave a few insights to that and was very interesting.

 

Holly is a tree girl and her job is to search the country for the perfect tree for each Christmas. Having grown up on a Christmas tree farm, it's in her blood. The hunt isn't always easy--there are certain height requirements to fill, a certain look to maintain, and other facts that go into choosing the tree. When she received an email from a young boy to come and look at their tree, she does, leaving straight from her vacation. But the owner, the boy's uncle, Sam, isn't so keen on giving this large tree up. His father decides that the family will vote and it's up to Holly to convince them why they should donate this tree.

 

Holly is very dedicated to what she does and is very good at debate. She comes across as all business, but this venture helps soften her a little and helps her see the bigger picture. Sam is rough and gruff and does some softening of his own along the way. I enjoyed seeing the transformations of these very independent characters. As a novella, there's not a lot of depth, but there is a fun, unique, fluffy story awaiting the reader.

 

Content: mild-moderate language; no violence or religious elements; mild romance (kissing). Clean!
