My Review: YAY!! She's b-a-a-c-k!! I love Sadie--she is imperfect, yet so endearing. I don't know if it's just me, but I was hooked on this series from the start, yet each book gets better and better. A bonus for me is the delicious sounding recipes--every book has some great ones and I can't wait to try these.
Sadie is on a girls trip when she is presented with a mystery--one that she is more than willing to pass up, until she is almost begged to look into things more by the police. Pretty much her dream come true, you know, to be on the good side of the police.
I love the way Sadie's mind works--the way she processes information and is willing to take risks, all in the name of truth and justice. And maybe just a little bit to satisfy her curiosity. I love how quick Sadie is to jump right into things with both feet--from service at a memorial for a man she doesn't know, to going into the woods alone, to being bait to try and trap people into telling the truth. I would probably have heart failure doing half the things she does.
The characters were all great--some I hated and some I loved, but they were all vivid. It was fun to see a character from a previous book join in the fun.
One miss for me with this book--Pete was missing. I have really come to enjoy and appreciate the balance he gives to Sadie and his calm, hesitant support. I also missed her kids--we got a very brief glimpse of Shawn in this one, but that was it.
I can't complain--it was great with a fun, unique setting that is a little familiar to me--Southern UT (St. George and Pine Valley). I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
