Sexy physical therapist, Ben Montgomery, meets his sister’s friend and the sparks fly. He takes it as a silent challenge when she ignores his advances, but it’s her extraordinary inner beauty that captures his heart.

My Review: 4 Stars

What a pleasant surprise to discover that this story was loosely based on a true story! I don't know what it is, but I love fictional stories based on real events or on true life, but I need that one word--fiction--to truly enjoy it.

Joss grew up in a tropical location and seems to be having a bit of trouble adjusting to life in the States. She comes across as quite timid, yet has no trouble shooting down the advances of popular playboy, Ben, her friend's brother. Ben has a penchant for origami and a stray pigeon, that he loves to talk to, and is bound and determined to win the heart of Joss.

This is a sweet and gentle love story, and while I would have loved it to be longer, it is developed enough to show the growth of characters, as well as a vivid plot. I enjoy romances that aren't easy to achieve, but don't overwhelm me with all the bad luck in the world. This is the perfect mix of anguish, longing, patience, and love, and is told in a way that brings the reader into the world of these characters. Not too long, it's a great book to read in a day, when a brain candy mood strikes.

Content: mild romance
