Reeling from the deaths of her ex-husband and their nine-year-old daughter, Meg Evans suspects foul play in the mysterious auto accident. Clues lead her to Gemini Island, where she goes undercover cataloging Northwest Indian artifacts while conducting her own investigation. She doesn't count on having to work with the enigmatic and handsome Eric Richards.

Artifact expert Eric has hidden reasons for coming to Gemini, and he doesn't relish working with anyone who might thwart his search for answers. Will they keep their true identities and their missions hidden? Or can they learn to trust each other and together discover Gemini's terrible secret?

Excerpt

Working together. Meg’s shoulder’s tightened.

She’d counted on having the workplace to herself. Now she’d have to share it with Eric Richards. How could she do her investigating with him around? Eric’s frown told her he didn’t like the situation any better than she did.

Jones led them down a ramp, past gasoline pumps and a bait house, to the boat docks, where sailboat masts swayed with the tide and colorful flags high on flagpoles waved in the breeze. He stopped beside a mid-size cabin cruiser with Kawanti painted on the hull….

They soon left the marina and headed into open waters. Sitting in the stern left her unprotected from the wind but able to take in the spectacular scenery. Not a cloud hung in the cerulean sky, where seagulls swooped and soared, their caws echoing over the water.

However, the islands commanded the most attention. All shapes and sizes, they were scattered as though tossed from a giant hand. Meg’s research had revealed about four hundred and fifty islands made up the San Juans. Out of all those, only one truly interested her, and that was Gemini. In her mind, she heard Johnny’s voice on her answering machine the night he died: “It’s under Gemini, Meg. Remember that.” A shiver trickled down her spine. Was she about to find out what Johnny meant?
