My Review:
I love what Ms. Griffith says at the end of the book. Something to the effect of writing escapism, cotton candy books. That's a great description of what this book is!
Blake is a wealthy politician, who is also a bachelor. He seems like a great guy, dedicated to his role in society, but not a guy ready to settle down. He works long, hard hours and when he's encouraged to take a vacation, he does. And a lovely, foreign girl almost immediately catches his eye.
I couldn't help but laugh at the way Blake falls all over himself when it comes to Cressida. She is pure perfection, with a streak of human, but she isn't the kind of girl a woman loves to hate. As perfect as she is, she's very down-to-earth and there's something about her that encourages protection and friendship. It's hard to not want to help her.
I love that there's a lot of mythology woven into the story, as well as mystery, adventure, and intrigue. The romance is sizzling clean and so much fun. There are a lot of crazy things that occur (both good and bad) and at times, so much happens in so little time, it feels a bit rushed, but overall, this story is highly entertaining and almost a sugar rush. I can't wait to see what other stories will be a part of this series.
Content: mild, non-graphic violence (when the bad curses happen); no language or religious elements, aside from the mythology; mild-moderate romance (steamy clean kissing and vague thoughts of more, but not without marriage). Clean!

About the Author:
Jennifer Griffith studied French, German, Japanese, and a wee bit of
Spanish in her school days. Her grandmother was Norwegian, and Jennifer
grew up with lots of Scandinavian traditions floating around, including
fabulous cardamom laced cookies called Krumkaker, made on a
fancy waffle iron. However, she’d never dream of trying to teach someone
any of those languages. And she might botch the cookies. Instead, she
writes novels in English, drives her five kids a million places, and
laughs with her husband.
