Thanks so much for hosting me today! I am so excited to talk about my Thanksgiving short over on Harlequin.com because it allowed me to go back and revisit a character I always felt bad about not getting a happy ending. In my series, THE CHICAGO SISTERS, one of the sisters believes that she is supposed to marry a doctor. In THE BEST LAID PLANS, Emma Everhart always follows her plan. When Dr. Scott Spencer starts working in the same ER, she’s sure she’s supposed to fall madly in love with him, get married, and have two perfect children. The only problem is that she can’t fight her feelings for a handsome paramedic named Charlie Fletcher.
Emma and Charlie got their HEA, but the sweet Dr. Spencer walked away empty-handed. Originally, he was written as kind of a jerk. It made it too easy for Emma to walk away, so my editor suggested making him a perfectly nice guy with plenty to offer, causing Emma to doubt her feelings for Charlie. Scott became a sweet, talented doctor who knew how to treat a lady right. Unfortunately for him, that lady was meant for someone else.
So when Harlequin came to me about this Thanksgiving short, I had to give Scott the ending he deserved. SNOW DAY BABY was born.
Scott is headed home for Thanksgiving and an interview at the hospital his father wants him to work at in Minneapolis. Since Scott has nothing really holding him in Chicago except his job, he agrees to fly up for a couple days. A big snowstorm interferes by delaying all the flights, including the one Sheridan Colfax is taking to Florida. Sheridan is 8-months pregnant and having a hard time coping with the idea of being a single mom. She’s also responsible for finding the next viral video to share on her company’s entertainment website. Scott and Sheridan share a past – one where she was the popular homecoming queen and he was the geek with a crush. Oh, how the tables have turned!
When these two reunite, finding a heartwarming Thanksgiving video might be easier than Sheridan thinks…
