When Jennifer arrives in Seashell Beach, her first priority is to meet with a realtor to sell the place. She laughs out loud when she discovers the realtor’s name is Mr. Studly. But the more Jennifer gets to know Paul Studly, the more she finds reasons to stay and run the antiques shop herself.
SOLVING FOR X: Abbie is only a little bit obsessed with antiques, okay, a lot. So when Holden, an out-of-town business executive, tries to purchase the tin soldiers that Abbie’s had her eye on, Abbie refuses to back down. The antiques shop owner issues a challenge: whoever comes up with the best story for wanting the soldiers, will become the new owner. Abbie isn’t about to let some fancy executive beat her out, no matter how charming he is.
A STITCH IN TIME: When Cate learns that antiques dealer Henry Lancaster has purchased the sewing machine left to her by her grandmother, Cate is determined to get it back. What she isn’t counting on is that Henry has just as much claim as Cate. And it doesn’t help that Henry is good-looking and apparently single. Getting to know Henry becomes an unexpected surprise, sending her life into a sudden detour.

My Review:
I love collections of stories that have a common thread, yet are each so unique and this book delivered! The common thread in this set is an antiques shop. I've grown to love this touristy town and have enjoyed meeting the locals.
The book starts out with Jennifer, a woman who has inherited an antique shop when her aunt passes away. Unsure if she wants to keep it, she puts it up for sale, which is how she meets Paul Studly. Wow--what a name--and she can't quit making comments about it, in somewhat embarrassing ways. Jennifer learns a lot about her aunt, life, and the shop, which influences her outlook on things. I love growth! I also love the common theme that everything has a story.
That theme leads us to the next story with two powerful characters, each intent on getting a certain antique--toy tin soldiers. Both Abbie and Holden are to each come up with a story and the best story wins. There's nothing like a little competition to set the attraction in motion. I love the way they dig in deep, both in going for what they want and in getting to know each other beyond the superficial level. May the best story win!
Which leads to the last story of the set. Cate and Henry are both after the same thing, but find life has an interesting way of coming full circle. Cate is determined to get back the antique sewing machine her grandmother meant to leave her at her passing that her cousin sold to an antique dealer. Henry wants to give his mother a similar sewing machine to the one the family had to sell years decades earlier. They say the feelings of hate are close to love...
I enjoyed the sparks of romance, the tender stories, and the way each character was woven so well into the book.
Content: the 2nd and 3rd stories have mild language; each had mild romance (kissing); no violence or religious elements. Clean!
