My Review: 5 Stars

I've read these series from the start, and while the books don't necessarily need to be read in order, they do tell the stories of each member of this family and the backstory does help. But it can be read as a standalone. 

From the toe-tingling romance to the larger-than-life characters, Karen Rock does a fabulous job of delivering this story! I was completely captivated from the very first chapter. I've wondered about Justin throughout the earlier books of the series. Why is he a loner? Why is he so bent on defying death...or life? What makes him tick? Rock brought all kinds of emotion to Justin's story and my heart could hardly handle it.

Justin is the ultimate definition of dark and brooding and his dangerous edge is not what Brielle wants or needs. But sometimes there is an attraction that can't be denied. Their connection is hotter than hot and I loved watching it develop through trials, issues, and time. 

There are so many challenges that so many of these characters face in this series, but in this book especially, and Rock deals with them in a way that is engrossing and touching, without all of the mopey depression. This is a book that is full of hope and connections and I loved every minute spent in this small Rocky Mountain town.
