My Review: 4 Stars

Rowena and Evan have been friends since she was born, but the war has changed him. She devises a plan to set up their widowed parents to bring a smile back to his face, but she gets more than she bargained for with her matchmaking attempt.

I love the idea of childhood friends realizing that there's more to each other than their former playmate. Rowena is mischievous and fun, bringing a light-hearted spirit to their comradery. I love how she is able to loosen Evan up, as he is weighted down by many different matters. As for their parents, they seem to be a good match and are adoring of their respective children.

The progression of the storyline is sweet and natural, causing the reader (me included) to feel swept up in the events and to feel a part of the story, as it's very believable. Oh, how I sometimes wish I could live in the Regency period--but only if I could be more than a servant. Ha ha.
