When Ty Epperson wins a
fortune in the Idaho State Lottery, he’s determined to put his sudden
wealth to good use, even if it means putting up with Holland Morrissey, a
Los Angeles image consultant who has never met a credit card she
doesn’t like and thinks spending $1000 on a pair of pants is normal
behavior. Ty has never considered himself lucky in life or in love,
until now. But not all of Ty’s plans are popular and someone is
determined to stop him, putting everyone and everything he loves at
risk.

My Review: 4 Stars
What would you do if you won a billion dollars in a lottery? I think I would be quite similar to Ty, the Idaho sheep farmer. He's a humble man and doesn't want to end up bankrupt, so he spends it sparingly. When he goes to LA to do some interviews for a new foundation he's starting, he quickly realizes that he's a fish out of water and needs some help to vamp up his image and hires Holland as his consultant. She's good at her job and is willing to follow Ty back to Idaho to help get his foundation off the ground.
I really like it when a character doesn't fit the typical mold. Ty isn't what you would imagine a billionaire bachelor to be and Holland isn't an average LA yuppie. They both have a lot of molding to go through and insecurities to deal with and I love watching them emerge into who they truly are. I would have loved to see them and their relationship developed a bit more, but it's hard to do in a shorter story (around 100 pages).
I always enjoy a suspense angle and this book has a great one, but once again, I wish it could have been built up just a little more. I liked the references, descriptions, and history regarding the town of Hailey, ID, as it brings a good dimension to the book. A fun supporting cast rounds out an enjoyable addition to the Destination Billionaire Romance series.
Content: mild romance (brief mention of adultery, mild kissing). Clean!

Nice review! I still haven't read any book from that "billionare" genre even if it is kinda popular. I guess I will at some point in my life, but I'm not in a hurry. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Isn't it crazy? Soooo many books and way too little time. :)
