{Music CD Review} My Home Can Be a Holy Place by Jenny Oaks-Baker

My Home Can Be a Holy Place (CD) by Jenny Oaks-Baker

From one of the world’s premier violinists comes a new collection of beautiful songs celebrating family and motherhood. The album features classic hymns, such as “Love at Home” and “I Am a Child of God,” stunning classical arrangements, including Brahms’s “Cradle Song,” and beloved
children’s tunes. The gorgeous track “Love Is Spoken Here” features Jenny performing with all four of her children, ages eleven and younger.

Track list:

  • Love at Home
  • Jesus Once Was a Little Child
  • Songs My Mother Taught Me
  • I Feel My Savior's Love
  • Brahms's Cradle Song
  • I Am a Child of God
  • Love Is Spoken Here

  • My Review:

I used to play the violin and love the sweet sounds. I am amazed at how great this CD is! I've always loved the music of Jenny Oaks-Baker, but to include her four children is an amazing experience. I've never heard the song Songs that My Mother Taught Me and that one was one of my favorites. Of course, I love the comforting familiar favorites as well. Each song is done in a unique way and each is really beautiful.

This CD is the perfect companion to the new children's book of the same title by Kristen Oaks. These truly are songs of the heart and can really help make the home feel like a holy place.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
