My Review:
Prince Garin is a vain and shallow man as the story begins. His need for adventure sends him on a quest with his most valued servant, Elani. Elani would do pretty much anything for the prince. As they set out, they are almost immediately besieged by unforeseen complications--giants, dragons, water witches, etc.
As with most quests, progress is made toward the end result. A bonus with this one is the growth the characters went through as the quest moved forward. Elani is a strong and stable character, yet even she had to go through some challenging events that really tested her strength. Garin had his own share of difficulties. Sometimes, going through hard times uncover characteristics that weren't visible before. The transformation that he went through was great! I loved that these characters learned some great life lessons and what truly matters in life.
Full of twists and turns, this story was a fun journey! My only wish: I wanted a few more details and emotions shared.
