Review: My Snowy Valentine (White Cairns Ski School #3) by Roz Marshall

My Snowy Valentine (White Cairns Ski School #3)

My Snowy Valentine by Roz Marshall
Publication: March 2014
My Source: I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review

Description: Kiwi Mike Cole has paused his around-the-world skiing odyssey to help Jude Winters get her Scottish ski school into shape. His know-how has been a godsend for his inexperienced boss, whose instructor husband is inexplicably still away in New Zealand.

As their quest to win the annual ski school race and some much-needed equipment turns into a grudge match with a rival school, Jude needs Mike's expertise more than ever. But with the team beset by injury, jealousy and sabotage, Mike's efforts to train them seem fruitless, and victory almost hopeless.

For the last two years, his secrets have kept him running from himself. As circumstances push him closer to Jude, his desire for walkabout starts to resurface. Even though he knows he can't keep running forever, he isn't sure if what he's found here can finally help him to face the past--or if it's time to take flight again.

"My Snowy Valentine" is the 3rd novella from the 'White Cairns Ski School' series about a Scottish snowsports school.

Whilst this is a stand-alone book, you might enjoy reading the series from the first episode, "Winter Arrives".

My Review: I really enjoy how each book focuses more on an individual character and we get to know him or her a lot better. This one focuses more on Mike and we even come to know Jude better.

Mike is a good guy and goes around the world skiing year-round. It seems odd to be skiing June through September, but that's what he does in New Zealand. Mike takes charge organizing the team for the annual race and he's a very good leader. He's able to handle different personalities and does well in times of stress and unexpected mishaps.

Jude's situation is still a little of a mystery to me. Her husband is in New Zealand and she's running the ski school in Scotland. She seems to be jumping into her role as the boss, yet she still suffers from insecurities.

The race itself was exciting and I loved watching it unfold, especially after all the build up.

Content: a few mild expletives; no violence; two mild kisses--my only problem is Jude is still married and knows she shouldn't be kissing another man.
