Blog Tour REVIEW: The Husband Maker by Karey White

Husband Maker Tour
The Husband Maker by Karey WhiteThe Husband Maker by Karey White Charlotte’s a girl with nicknames. She may not love being called Charles or Chuck, but the hardest nickname to take is the one she was given in college, the one that’s followed her now for too many years. They call her “the husband maker” and sadly, it fits. Every guy she’s dated since high school has become his next girlfriend’s husband. Not hers. Not three girlfriends down the road. The next. Is she doing something wrong or is she just cursed? When Kyle Aldsworth enters the picture and sweeps her off her feet, Charlotte begins to hope that maybe she's not destined to be single forever. A senator’s son with political aspirations of his own, Kyle's wealthy, handsome, and in need of a wife. Will Charlotte be disappointed yet again, or will she finally be able to make a husband for herself?

My Review: I knew from the first chapter that I was in for a great chick lit story...and I sure wasn't wrong about that! I loved every minute of it, right up until the cliffhanger ending. I'm so glad the next book isn't far from being released because I'm DYING to know what happens next!

Charlotte puts up with a lot from her family and friends--from embarrassing nicknames to hurtful names--yet, she remains a positive, kind, and beautiful person. Her twin brother and their best friend, Angus, love to tease her and call her childhood nicknames, much to her dismay. While attending the wedding reception of the last guy she dated, she overhears a conversation where she's referred to as "The Husband Maker" because every guy she dates marries the very next girl he dates after they break up.  While true, that hurts. But things have to change eventually, right?

Enter Kyle. Charlotte's boss sets them up and the future is looking bright. I loved Kyle! Even though he's rich, handsome, a great chef, and sweet, he's very down-to-earth and they really do hit it off. I was completely engrossed in their story and stayed up way too late to finish it--it was that good. Things almost seem too good to be true.

What I loved the most about the story is the way Charlotte handles herself. She has every reason to be vengeful and bitter, yet she isn't. She is truly happy for those around her, even her exes; she has a very good, supportive relationship with her family, which includes Angus. When faced with tough decisions, she digs deep down and does what's best for others, not herself. She's so amazing! I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Content: no language or violence; lots of kissing, but it stayed clean!

*I received a copy from the tour host and this in no way influenced my opinion*
