Description:
The story of Christmas started long
before the Nativity. Through reverent poems by the author, Shersta
Chabot tells the narrative of those who lived hundreds of years before
the Savior’s birth and how they were told by heavenly messengers of the
coming of the Messiah. Rejoicing, they prepared the world on both sides
of the globe.
Angels of Christmas tells the
story of the many angels that foretold, announced, and celebrated the
long-awaited birth of Jesus Christ. Perfect to read aloud to your family
or to ponder over by yourself, this beautiful poetry will enhance your
holiday season with feelings of gratitude and wonder at the miracle of
Christ’s birth that was anticipated both on earth and in heaven.
Shersta Chabot grew up in Utah, the
oldest in a family of eleven children. After working for several years
in both corporate and small business accounting, she returned to her
first love—English literature—and completed her Bachelor’s degree at
Utah Valley University while working as Acquisitions Editor for a local
trade publishing company. Currently, she lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with
her three children, where she has taken on the dual challenges of
graduate student and teacher of writing at Arizona State University.
Shersta is the author of The Symbols of Christmas.
My Review: *****--5 Stars
I loved that the angels' good news was portrayed in such a poetic way. Scriptural references were given and the words flowed beautifully. I especially loved the ending--showing us how we can liken the story to our own lives now and tying it all together.
