A Wyoming Summer by Carla Kelly, Christine Sterling, and Heather B. Moore {Book Review}

A Wyoming Summer by Carla Kelly, Christine Sterling, and Heather B. Moore

Can true love survive the changing seasons?

ELLEN FOUND by Carla Kelly
Set in location of Old Faithful Inn, 1903-4. Working in a discouraging cafe, Ellen escapes an awful situation in rough and tumble Butte, Montana, and goes to work as second in command to a wary cook in the shell that will become Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone Park. She meets Charles Penrose, head carpenter on the massive project of Old Faithful Inn, which is being finished in a harsh Wyoming winter. Will it really open June 1, 1904? Can Ellen start to trust the other workers? What will she learn about the other employees? And Charles. He's a widower with a young daughter there, too. Like Ellen, he wants more.

THE WIDOW OF DAYBREAK by Christine Sterling
Doris Whistler is learning how to survive in a town taken over by outlaws. When the leader of an infamous gang murders her husband, her choices are to tuck tail and run, or stand her ground and make Daybreak as promising as its name. It proves to be a difficult task with the good citizens in fear of the corrupt mayor and godlessness that abounds. What she doesn't expect is the support of a traveling lawman who believes in her and the tiny town she loves so much.

MAY I KISS THE BRIDE? by Heather B. Moore
Viola Delany is not happy about being sent to the middle-of-nowhere, small town Wyoming. Yes, it will be good to let the gossips find something else to talk about other than her failed engagement. And yes, it will be nice to spend the summer with her Aunt Beth. But as Viola sits on the train heading for Wyoming, wondering how she'll ever occupy her time in such a small town, none other than a real life cowboy sits across the way. She can't help but take peeks at him, noting that the condition of his unpolished black boots and scuffed rawhide jacket seem to be authentic . . . All right, so he might be tall, dark-haired, and handsome if a woman doesn't mind green eyes and a dangerous-looking scar, but this man certainly has nothing to do with her. Besides she'll never see him again. What are the chances he's traveling to the same middle-of-nowhere small town?

My Review: 5 Stars

Fun fact: I lived on a ranch in Wyoming for a few months when I was really little. I don't remember it at all, but I've always felt a sweet connection to summers in this vast, rugged state, and it was a joy to read these stories.

I believe they all take place in the very early 1900s and the times then were much simpler, yet MUCH more dangerous in a variety of ways. In ELLEN FOUND, the danger is with wildlife, while the other two have gangs of villainous devils.

ELLEN FOUND was such a lyrically charming story of a girl finding a place to start over and a place where she fits in. It was so satisfying to read of her ideas and ways to make life more efficient and easier for those she worked with. I loved the little journal snippets at the beginning of each chapter and was thrilled with the friendship Ellen formed with a young friend, which eventually lead to love.

THE WIDOW OF DAYBREAK started out with heartbreak. In the slightly fast-paced way of the Wild West, Doris was forced to move on and find help to bring much needed peace and safety to her residence. I loved the connections that were woven together in complicated knots, which brought a lot of enjoyment and discovery to this story.

MAY I KISS THE BRIDE? was the perfect conclusion to this set. Viola is a no-nonsense and brave women being sent to help her aunt and a chance meeting with Rey on the train sparked an immediate interest--in both her and in the reader. I loved the small town, the bakery, and the sweet romance.

This is a set not to be missed and is the perfect summer read.

To Kiss a Wallflower {Book Review}

To Kiss a Wallflower by Jen Geigle Johnson, Heather B. Moore, and Anneka R. Walker

Eventually, all wallflowers will have their chance at love . . . This is where it begins.

The Wallflower’s Dance
by Jen Geigle Johnson
Lottie Hughes likes people, as long as they aren't too close. Does it bother her that no one asks her to dance? Yes, but she's not sure how to drum up dance partners when she has almost no dowry, no title, and freezes up when anyone tries to talk to her. When she suddenly inherits a huge amount and is the new center of attention all over London, her secret dreams might come true but also her worst nightmares. Suddenly everyone wants to talk to her. Men ask her to dance. And she is inundated with interested suitors. She fights to stay close to the few friends she knows are true. One man saw her before her life changed forever. But does she want to accept his help when he, too, might be insincere?

Letters to a Wallflower by Heather B. Moore
Ellen might be beautiful and considered a diamond of the first water by Society, but she is so very tired of the pressure to marry a titled gentleman so that her beauty won’t go to waste. When her cousin Dinah dares Ellen to attend a ball with no frills and to stand with the wallflowers, Ellen takes on the dare. What’s in the wager for her? The prize cuttings of her aunt’s extraordinary roses. But what Ellen isn’t expecting is Lord Ravenshire to engage her in the most interesting conversation. When she confesses to him of her opposition in marrying for a title, he confesses his distaste of the London scene. They strike a bargain together, one which will either push them apart or lead to a future sweeter than either of them could have imagined.

To Marry a Wallflower by Anneka R. Walker
Charlotte Winters is destined to spinsterhood until she turns down an unwanted proposal and everything changes. With gossip rampant, her father attempts to salvage her reputation by betrothing her to another. Soon she is sent off to her aunt’s to meet Lord Templeton, her intended. Anxiety-ridden, Charlotte begs her aunt to let her observe Lord Templeton from afar before their introduction. She never planned to pretend to be her fictional cousin to learn more about him, or to fall in love with Lord Templeton’s friend in the process. Lord Templeton dreads returning to the empty halls of Newcliff Manor. When his father’s old friend, Mr. Winters reaches out for assistance, Lord Templeton finds himself returning home engaged to a woman he has never met. Desperate to learn more about Miss Winters, he befriends her cousin. He wouldn’t have spoken to her, or lied about his identity, if he’d known the quiet woman would sneak into his heart.

My Review: 5 Stars

What a darling set of stories, all with a wallflower theme. I loved the settings and picturing the situations.

I love these collections because each author has a slightly different writing style, but the common thread ties them all together, and for me, it was really hard to choose a favorite.

From a girl who freezes up with anxiety when talking to people, to a girl who wants to win a bet, to a girl with a secret, each story was such a fun delight and so entertaining. I loved the characters and the unique ways a wallflower was interpreted brought me some smiles and swoons.

Each one of these novellas in this collection earned a definite 5 stars from me!

The Inns of Devonshire (Timeless Romance Regency Collection {Review}

The Inns of Devonshire (Timeless Regency Collection) by Sally Britton, Annette Lyon, and Deborah M. Hathaway

Three novellas, three times the romance, and three times the love . . . in this brand new Timeless Regency Collection: The Inns of Devonshire

THE SEVENTH STAR INN by Sally Britton
After years of looking after one another, Susan Baxter and her mother view their neighbors in Totnes as family. When a new landlord inherits the leases on their homes and businesses alike, Susan dreads knowing her world could change at the whim of a stranger. But when she meets Collin Stonecroft and his inquisitive daughter, her feelings shift quickly from cautionary to hopeful. Collin has lived in the confines of London boarding houses all his life, and he’s determined to give his daughter more. They check into the Seventh Star Inn with plans to return to London as soon as possible, but both find Miss Baxter and her local history lessons far too enchanting to leave behind. When Susan learns of Collin’s proposed changes to her beloved neighborhood, will she be able to help him see that some things are perfect the way they are?

THE TRUTH ABOUT MR. BLACKMORE by Annette Lyon
Leigh’s life at the Old Grey Inn is drudgery broken by flights of fancy thanks in part to novels by Simon Blackmore. When Mattias McGrady comes to the inn for a fortnight, Leigh captures his attention. A relationship develops, and she dreads the end of his stay, which will mean a return to an unhappy life. An urgent letter to Mattias leads to him inviting Leigh to an event that stands to change both of their lives forever. If all goes well, Leigh will have a life of her choosing after all. But half-truths and lies have a way of complicating matters. When their plans go awry, Leigh loses her reputation and Mattias almost surely loses his career. Can either of them find happiness?

THE COACHMAN'S CHOICE by Deborah M. Hathaway
Ever-reliable Mary Thorne has helped her widowed mother run The Golden Mermaid Inn for years. She spends her days greeting guests, ensuring the inn runs smoothly—and dodging flirtatious remarks from passing coachmen. But she’s far too busy to pay any attention to such men, even the enticingly attractive Mr. Northcott. Known far and wide for his horsemanship, punctuality, and dallying reputation, Robert Northcott relishes his life as a coachman, especially his freedom to flirt with numerous women from inn to inn, all without the messy details of commitment. There’s just one woman who's immune to his charms: the lovely, single landlady of The Golden Mermaid. Robert is determined to win Mary over, just as heartily as she is determined to keep her distance from him. But his carefree life is threatened when his pursual of Mary becomes more than just a game...

My Review: 4 Stars

I love Regency romances and the great thing about this set is that the characters are all considered to be spinsters, as well as working class. Of course, the upper crust would be a blast, but there weren't all that many of them, so it's relatable for them to be "normal," strong, everyday women.

THE SEVENTH STAR INN tells the story of Susan and her mother, and their new landlord, Collin, and his adorable daughter. I loved the charming, rich history of this town and the wonderful relationships, and the way Susan fights so hard to keep things as they are. Seeing Totnes through her eyes was beautiful.

A hidden identity is a major factor in THE TRUTH ABOUT MR. BLACKMORE. The way the inn plays a role in Mattias's secret was endearing, but the tangled web soon ensnares him. Mattias had to overcome a lot in his life and I enjoyed watching him navigate things, especially an attraction to Leigh.

THE COACHMAN'S CHOICE was a wonderful way to end the collection. We all have choices to make in life--the good, the better, and the best--and I delighted in watching Robert try to have his cake and eat it too. Mary has new opportunities to pursue and has choices to make of her own, and it heartwarming to watch them figure their lives and desires out.

Widows of Somerset by Rebecca Connolly, Jen Geigle Johnson, and Heather B. Moore {Review}

Widows of Somerset by Rebecca Connolly, Jen Geigle Johnson, and Heather B. Moore

Paperback, Timeless Regency Collection #15, 320 pages
Publication: October 6th 2020 by Mirror Press
Source: I received a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given

Rules of the Secret Society of Young Widows:
Rule 1: Be a widow.
Rule 2: Have an impeccable reputation.
Rule 3: Don't fall in love again.

AN HEIR TO SPARE by Rebecca Connolly
Widowhood has changed much for Anna—Lady Lyndham—but an unconventional heir to the estate was not something she had anticipated. Nor had she anticipated that he would have no intention of forcing her out, although he has every right to. And she certainly did not anticipate finding him handsome, charming, and unfailingly generous. But Ned Richards, the new Lord Lyndham, has a world of surprises in store for her, and not anticipating them will become quite the adventure.

THE WIDOW OF LAVENDER COTTAGE by Jen Geigle Johnson
As a widow, Lillian Hunter has never been in love and plans to never marry again, so the rules of the Secret Society of Young Widows suit her just fine. Her days are spent attempting to transform her newly inherited Lavender Cottage into a livable space until Oliver Wentworth shows up, asking for her late husband. Anxious to establish himself as a landed gentry in Somerset, Oliver is none too pleased to discover that a widow lives alone in a tiny run down cottage bordering his new property. The fact that she’s young and attractive only adds frustration to his sense of responsibility over her. And confound her, she challenges his every attempt to help manage her affairs.

A PROMISE FORGOTTEN by Heather B. Moore
Charlotte Ashford never thought she’d marry a vicar, and she never thought she’d find herself widowed with a young child to care for on her own. She certainly never thought she’d return to Somerset to live with her mother again, and Charlotte never thought she’d see him again. But Lord Wilshore has never forgotten her, and he has never forgotten their promise made long ago. Charlotte would love nothing more than for Lord Wilshore to forgive her, but too much heartache and too much time might make that impossible. Friendship is all she can hope for, but that hope may be dashed as well.

My Review: 5 Stars

I think a secret society for young ladies in the Regency time period would be so much fun--but not exactly under these circumstances. Each of these ladies is invited to join because she's a widow. I absolutely adored how different each story was, yet how they had a common thread of this society ran by Lady Joanna to connect them. And can I just say that Rule #3 is definitely meant to be broken.

Each story was charming in its own right. We're treated to watching Lady Joanna teach these women to understand finances and become independent, while watching each widow move on. In AN HEIR TO SPARE, Anna and Ned are awkwardly delightful in their dance of life and love. I almost felt evil for delighting in their discomfort.

THE WIDOW OF LAVENDER COTTAGE delivered a story of boundaries and two individuals determined to work hard and to be fair in all things. I loved the challenges that arose from their interactions.

And finally, the collection was capped with a tale of broken promises and a shared past.
A PROMISE FORGOTTEN was the icing on the cake with its threads of hope and forgiveness, mingled with newness and love.

This is a wonderful set for those who enjoy Regency romances and left me curious about the other women in the group. I hope there's a continuation.

Romance in Autumn

And she knows exactly which house she wants to buy—the mansion at the seaside where she and her mother once worked in the summers. However, James, the son of their former employer, has been tasked to sell the mansion at auction for a price much higher than Phoebe can likely afford. Still hopeful, she volunteers to help James return the neglected mansion to its former glory, and the two become good friends. Yet as the auction draws nearer, they will need to determine which dreams are worth pursuing and which are worth changing.

A Long Winter Kiss

Samantha is still hurt over Rex eventually asking her not to write him anymore while he was away, and Rex is certain Samantha doesn’t deserve to be with a man who bears the emotional scars of a soldier. However, the two of them are thrown together again when Samantha’s father is unable to deliver his annual Christmas Eve gifts. As Samantha and Rex perform the task, the walls between them start to crumble, making them both hope in the miracles of the season.

My Review: 5 Stars

It's true that I complain about winter--it really isn't my favorite season because I despise being cold and the long, dark nights. However, I really do enjoy living in a place that has different seasons because there are reasons to celebrate each and every one (yes, even winter). I adored this collection by Stacy Henrie for those very reason--any season is a good season for falling in love and there's something to be found within each one. Each of these novellas does a great job of detailing a sweet, tender union, while embracing the season and transporting the reader right into the story. As with all novellas, these offerings are short, yet Henrie manages to fully develop the characters and plots, earning this collection a spot in my heart.

She’ll do anything to keep Rose and Oliver apart, including making a devil’s bargain that ensures they’ll never see each other again. When a mysterious old woman appears, she seems to have answers to Rose’s past. Could those long-held secrets hold the key to the future with Oliver that Rose longs for?

My Review: 5 Stars

Ooh, notes are such a intriguing premise! Although I obviously didn't live in the Victorian age, handwritten messages take me back to my younger years, when friends would pass notes in class or secret love notes were discovered in random places, causing all kinds of elation. I love how each one of these stories is tied by a time period and a note of some kind, although each book is completely different, yet equally beloved and entertaining.

The collection starts out with a bang with a tale of a note mistakenly posted to a childhood crush and a mad rush to intercept it. My heart melted with the tenderness and sweet love found within these pages.

The reader is then treated to a delightfully charming story set in Scotland, where hearts are changed after notes are exchanged and true love is found.

The wrap-up book is a forbidden love full of secrets, desire, and an undiscovered past, which played upon my emotions.

This set proves true to the Timeless Romance Collection in that it delivers reliably sweet and wholesome entertainment that is well worth the reading time.

Every woman dreams of love, but is a week in Brighton long enough to find happily ever after?

THE GRANDE HOTEL BY THE SEA by Jennifer Moore
After years of planning, Arthur Grande’s vision for a luxury hotel in Brighton is finally becoming a reality. But unlike the rest of the town, Daphne Dayley isn’t taken in by the newcomer’s cheerful smile or generous nature. She sees only a wealthy opportunist threatening to close her parents’ bakery. With the lease expiring in one week, the two clash in a battle of wills and wits. But they both come to discover that ambitions which had once seemed so clear may evolve when hearts are softened.

SIGNS OF LOVE by Annette Lyon
When the Hughes family vacations in Brighton, Julia goes exploring for fossils along the Undercliff path—a hobby she’s developed thanks to her curiosity in science. Instead of finding fossils, she stumbles upon Silas Hayward, a handsome wine smuggler, and one of his crew. She slips away undetected but is intrigued by Hayward and drawn to him later at a ball held at the Royal Pavilion. Her long-time friend Andrew is in love with Julia and declares his heart to her at the ball. She’s stunned and doesn’t know how to answer, but right then, Mr. Hayward conveniently takes her away to the dance floor. The distraction is brief, however; Julia quickly learns that the Hayward is far more than a harmless wine smuggler: he’s a traitor to the nation. If she can’t stop his plot with Andrew’s help, the country will fall to Napoleon.

THE RELUCTANT HEIR by Donna Hatch
Angry and grieving over his brother’s sudden death, Rowan turns his attention to finding his late brother’s long-lost love so he can personally inform her of the tragedy. One problem: he only has a lock of her hair, a miniature painting of her eye, and the name “Ann” as clues to her identity. With far-reaching dreams of being a renowned artist, Isabella has one shot at becoming one of the few women to be accepted as a student under a local art master. But when she encounters a mysterious gentleman searching for his late brother’s love, her heart tugs on her to help the lost soul. Helping him may mean sacrificing her dreams, and worse—falling in love with a man she cannot have.

My Review: 4 Stars
Brighton has always been a fascinating place to me and I loved my visit through these pages. I love these collections because each author adds a unique spin to a common theme and the stories are long enough to be satisfying, but short enough to be read in a sitting.

My stomach was rumbling in THE GRANDE HOTEL BY THE SEA. I could almost smell Daphne's baking and love her tenacity in keeping her business alive until the last possible moment. She's spunky and it was fun to visualize her interactions with Arthur.

The intrigue and danger in SIGNS OF LOVE was fun and I enjoyed watching the story play out. Julia's interest in fossils was fun because she reminded me of my daughter. I loved the importance placed on being educated and smart, especially for women, as this gave the story a progressive feel.

The humor and sweet romance in Rowan's quest were a great ending to the set with THE RELUCTANT HEIR. These characters were fun and heartwarming, and I enjoyed the art aspect.

I loved the setting by the sea with this set. I hadn't ever heard of the prince's summer palace and found the descriptions vivid and interesting. I need to go look up some pictures of this place.

Journey to to California, Yellowstone, and Las Vegas on three romantic trips in this boxed set of novellas by USA Today bestselling author Annette Lyon:

THE PIER CHANGES EVERYTHING
Alexandria has one last task to perform for her late husband, who died much too young: scatter his ashes in the Pacific Ocean. She goes to the Santa Monica Pier to do just that, but her plans get sidetracked after meeting Michael and feeling an immediate connection to him. They grab lunch, and the more time they spend together, the more they discover that they have in common—including past romantic hardships. As the day wears on, Alexandria begins learn that her heart just might be able to find love again.

OUR SONG
Cassie and Matt have been dating in the Yellowstone area for two years, and things are, well, average. When Cassie meets up with two college friends who are visiting, their love lives like sound like fairy tales: rose petals, chocolates, candles on the beach… Cassie goes home feeling like she’s missing out. After all, repeatedly watching Old Faithful erupt and walking through sulfur-smelling gases at Fountain Paint Pot don’t exactly say “romance.” Maybe things with Matt aren’t going anywhere, and it’s time to move on. Then she discovers that perception and reality are completely different things. Now she can only hope it isn’t too late to show Matt how much she really cares.

HEAD OVER HEELS
Tristan is proud to be an entrepreneur, running a popular singles’ lifestyle blog. So when she gets an offer to cover a singles convention in Las Vegas, she needs to find a way to get there from another freelance job in Salt Lake without breaking into her personal savings. Her friend sets her up with a co-worker who happens to be driving that way, and Tristan is more than surprised to come face-to-face with a man she has a lot in common with, not to mention seems to click with right away. The two decide to play a prank on Tristan’s friend, and pretend that they are smitten with each other, but soon, the lines between pretend and reality start to fade.

My Review: 5 Stars

THE PIER CHANGES EVERYTHING

Second chances are so romantic. Michael and Alexandria both have pasts to recover from and after spending a day together, find comfort in each other and in a surprise revelation. This story is filled with nostalgic moments, as well as hope for the future and really tugged on my heartstrings.

OUR SONG

It's so easy to take life and relationships for granted and to think the grass is greener on the other side. There were some sweet and important lessons learned in this story and I thought it was a super fun and romantic story.

HEAD OVER HEELS

I've never thought about meeting the man of my dreams at a Comic Con! It's so sad when a quick meeting there leaves a girl wanting for more, but Tristan has no way of finding her Loki again. A humorous second meeting puts Tristan on a road trip from Salt Lake to Las Vegas with a man who seems to be her match.

The way these two characters click just feels so right. I love the way they work together to get back at their friend and that long car ride really gives them time to discover their common threads. My heart was warmed by this road trip and the results from it. And bonus? These two are really into 80s music.

Three novellas in one collection!

THE COWBOY’S CATCH by Kimberly Krey: When Jason Keller bids on a date with Marlee at the town’s annual fundraising event, she’s quick to turn him down. First of all, an evening with Marlee was never on the table; just dates with each of her younger sisters. Beyond that, Jason Keller—a man with Hollywood ties—is the last cowboy in town she’d go on a date with. Being abandoned because of her own mother’s Hollywood pursuits taught her well. But when the Keller Cowboy offers a hefty sum for the charities in question, in front of half the town no less, Marlee’s compelled to accept. It’s just one date after all, and it’s not like she’d ever fall for a man like him. Or so she thinks.

SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART by Annette Lyon: Teresa adores her job as manager of the J-Bar-D Ranch, which boards horses and offers riding lessons. The owner, Dorothy, has become like a grandmother to Teresa. But when Dorothy passes away unexpectedly, the ranch is put up for sale by none other than Dorothy’s only grandson, Derek. Even with the obvious chemistry between them, Teresa refuses to consider dating the guy who’s going to turn her beloved ranch into a strip mall. My Review: 5 Stars

I've never wanted to move to Montana more than I do now! There's something so soothing to the soul to enjoy a sweet romance under the big sky, where times are simpler, even if love lives aren't. The slower pace of a cowboy's life is something to be envied. Although they work hard, life isn't like the hustle and bustle of the city. This collection gets a standing ovation from me!

THE COWBOY'S CATCH starts the collection off with a bang. Sparks immediately fly between resistant Marlee and Jason, who has a Hollywood connection, which is exactly why Marlee is so hesitant. I love the slightly pushy and confident persona that Jason emits, because it's exactly what Marlee needs. The romance is swoony and perfectly natural, especially in the face of age-old fears.

Teresa and Derek both learn important lessons in SELLING HER RANCH, STEALING HIS HEART. It's impossible to know the full story if you're unwilling to listen and as each character opens their hearts and minds, love and romance is able to seep into the cracks and heal old wounds. I love the way this story defies the impossible and brings a sweet and tender love to balance the challenges.

THE COWBOY'S SECOND GO is the icing on the cake. I'm a fan of second chance romances and this one delivers in multiple facets of that trope, especially as an unrequited teenage love has a new chance. With adorable twins and an immediately sparky attraction, this swoony treat put an exclamation point to end this set. I loved the way the events in the past were recreated, mingling with new memories and hope. The conflict was perfect for the story and the music aspect touched my soul.

Second-Chance Christmas by Heidi Kimball

My Review: 5 Stars

Sometimes I wish for more with collections because I get swept away by a story and it's just not long enough. However, each story in this set is perfect because each book delivers a sweet, tender morsel of romance and goodness, but they're not overwhelming long, which is great since the holidays are a busy time of the year. They're perfect for the season and will get you in the mood for Christmas. And an added bonus--they're all equally good! I can't choose a favorite because they're all on par with each other, each delivering a truly charming tale.

There is a slight feeling of melancholy for many of these characters, as they are all going through something difficult. But the magic of Christmas and love brightens up their lives and gives each story such a happy feeling. If you love Christmas and Regency, you're sure to love this one!

HOPE FOR CHRISTMAS

Anika Fletcher hates Christmas--its promises of good tidings and hope for the future are as tinseled as the ornaments on Kenworth's Hope Tree. Despite her feelings, Anika wants to maintain her daughter's faith in the magic of the season and gladly accepts a second job working with the handsome Carlos Rodriguez to restore Kenworth's old fashioned soda fountain. Carlos is no stranger to hard times and slowly shares his life of light and joy with Anika as they work together. Just as her fragile soul begins to feel hope again, an ill-timed act of charity changes everything. Anika isn't sure who she can trust or if hope is worth nurturing--especially at Christmas when it's easy to enjoy a kiss and believe love can last longer than the season.

THE KISS THIEF

As the head librarian of the Echo Ridge Library, Britta Klein thrives on order and categorization. Unfortunately, the old church-turned-library is in desperate need of a renovation. The Harvest Hurrah fundraiser seems to be the answer, but plans keep going awry. With help from Milo Geissler, accomplished musician, piano tuner, and kiss thief, each catastrophe is narrowly avoided. When Milo goes to great lengths to help Britta find a key classic book, she begins to wonder if there is more to life than books and order. Can she allow this man who speaks the language of music to tune her heart to a new song?
Welcome to Echo Ridge, New York where romance finds its way into the hearts and lives of the people who walk the streets of the close-knit community.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE OF RIODAN

When a mysterious man offers to help Elise redecorate the old Bed & Breakfast, she gladly hands him a wallpaper steamer. After she discovers his true identity, she doesn’t know whether to curtsy or run and hide. Unfortunately, hiding isn’t an option because her heart is already tangled up with the handsome prince. At the same time, Elise’s old crush from high school wants a relationship and she’s forced to decide whether to chase after a fairy tale ending or stay grounded in reality.

COMING HOME TO LOVE

Do you remember your first love? Have you ever wondered what would happen if you had a second chance to follow your heart?
When Laney Richins left Echo Ridge, New York eight years ago, she vowed she’d never return, but life had other plans. Those plans included her cute little boy and a divorce, so Laney moved back home and started over. Working in the flower shop seems like the perfect plan until Billy Redford, the man she should have married shows up.

Billy Redford’s heart was broken when his high school sweetheart turned her back on him and fled Echo Ridge for the big city lights. Running into Laney in Echo Ridge now brings up past feelings he thought were long gone. She’s prettier than ever, still seems to read his mind, and despite his protests ends up on the building and decorating committee with him for the Homecoming dance. Billy knows how to build just about anything, but he isn’t sure he knows how to mend a broken heart.

My Review: 4.5 Stars

HOPE FOR CHRISTMAS
Years and years ago, my grandmother worked at a department store in a smallish town and Kenworth's has that same type of nostalgic feel to it. I could picture the candy counter, the soda fountain, the women's department, the window displays, and most of all the Hope Tree.

Anika and her daughter make such a sweet pair and I loved their interactions, especially has her co-worker from her second job, Carlos, makes an appearance. The overall feeling is so tender and hopeful, with love swirling around in the wings.

THE KISS THIEF
I love books and I love music, so head librarian of the Echo Ridge Library, Britta Klein, latched onto my heart. In an effort to help the library receive a much needed renovation, Britta has plans, but they always fall apart. Luckily, Milo is there to save the day. I loved his persistence and support. And I especially loved the romance and autumn season in Echo Ridge.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE OF RIODAN
I've mentioned before and I'm sure I'll mention it again, I'm a sucker for royalty stories and this one delivered a swoony sweet love triangle. Elise is single and working hard to save her grandma's house, when suddenly, she has two options for love--a crush from the past and a handsome prince! I love the ties to this romantic classic and the movie quotes kept a smile on my face. For a short story, this one is full of decisions, romance, and self-discovery and I enjoyed every minute.

COMING HOME TO LOVE
A second chance with a high school sweetheart is very endearing, especially when the timing is finally right. Sometimes life's experiences need to shape and mold a person to who become who she is meant to be and that's just what happens with Laney. Billy had his heart broken before but now is the time to hold on to what he's always wanted.

This is the perfect book for lovers of clean romance and heartwarming stories.
