Roxelle McCann is eager to meet the family of her best friend, so she takes a mini-vacation to the Navajo Nation. Roxelle expects to find out more about Navajo language and customs and to be awed by the beauty of Monument Valley. She does not expect to find love among the monuments. The man she meets offers both a surprising possible future and a tender reminder of the past.
My Review: 3 Stars
I love the Timeless Romance Singles and this one was definitely unique. Set in Arizona, with a good chunk on the Navajo reservation, the red stone beauty and wonder of the area was what captured my interest.
Roxelle and her Navajo roommate, Kyra, go on a mini-vacation to the Rez. Roxelle is easy to pity and feel sympathy for, as her life has been hard, but Kyra is all prickles. These two are quite different, yet they are as close as sisters, and I love the way Roxelle is able to soften her friends quills a little.
A childhood second chance romance is always a favorite and it was fun to see this trope come to fruition. I only with there was a little more development in the romance department. It's my favorite thing to fall in love all over again, right along with the couple, so I needed more.
Overall, this was a perfectly sweet diversion, with a stunningly gorgeous setting.
Content: very mild romance
About the Author: Susan Aylworth loves books, poems, plays, words in almost all polite forms, and
good raspberry jam. Her first book, started when she was nine, "was a rip-off of Black Beauty. I wrote
