My Review: 3.5 Stars
Erin is a busy woman, making her way in New York City as an ad executive. Jake is trying to break through into the acting scene and a job on a commercial leads Erin's mother to believe they're engaged. A plan is hatched to let their parents think that, to keep them off their backs about their non-existent relationships. The premise of this story is very promising and I like stories built on a fake relationships, especially when the relationship of convenience brings out the chemistry and true feelings of the characters.
As an avid reader of clean romance, I love to watch the full development of the story and I love it when all the pieces pull together to present a sigh-worthy book. The elements are all there in this one--a fun first-meet, great chemistry, uncomfortable situations, a suspenseful climax--but the presentation is a little flat. I wanted more of their feelings, more connection, and more relationship development, as this is an insta-love.
Erin and Jake are great characters and the bonds they each have with their families is endearing. The setting is enjoyable, but also a tad unrealistic, as they are living in the middle of NYC and everyone (parents, friends, etc) drives their cars around. Maybe people really do, but everyone I know just takes the subway/cab/bus/walks.
Overall, this is a fun, quick read and those who love a clean, contemporary romance will enjoy it.

Jaclyn is an Idaho farm girl who grew up loving to read. She
developed a love for writing as a senior in high school, when her dad
jokingly said she was the next Dr. Seuss (not even close, but very
sweet). She met her husband, Steve, at BYU, and they have six happy,
