My Review:
I loved each one of these stories--they're all short and sweet...and romantic! The collection starts out with STORYBOOK ROMANCE, a story about Ellie, a NYC book editor. When her bosses passes away and a rival takes over, she has to work extra hard to keep her job. She discovers gold in the slush pile--a book that total captures her heart and soul. The emails and instant messages with Max, the author, that follow her discovery are completely priceless.
I really enjoyed the banter and exchanges that Ellie had with Max. I felt that they were real and true to who they were and their online encounters had me smiling. I loved the way they ended up meeting. I thought the story was really romantic, even though they actually never ended up even kissing. I loved the backbone that Ellie grew in relation to her job.
HE LOVES ME NOT was a lot of fun and took place in Moab, UT. Kenedee works for a river guide company and is sure that her boss, Dravin, has the hots for her--even though he has a girlfriend. I mean, he does leave her flowers all the time. The business is in danger of closing and Dravin's brother, Andrew, comes up with a scheme to postpone the inevitable.Kenedee isn't so sure this plan will work, but she's willing to do whatever it takes.
I couldn't help but laugh at several instances. To avoid being caught, Andrew and Kenedee ended up hiding in a funny situation. There was also the time when the "deal" was going down. It seems to be more a reunion than a business meeting. The characters and setting were a lot of fun.
A case of mistaken identity in FOOLS OF US ALL made for some heartache. When Jane is mistaken for her flamboyant twin, she runs with it, since the guy is a long-time crush. Mason is just as nice as he's always been, but seems pretty clueless, especially since he dated Jane's twin in high school.
I loved the tender relationship that Jane shared with her mother. She's very selfless, even towards Mason. I loved the way she dealt with Jennica, her twin. I felt her pain with the situation, but she handled it well.
These types of stories prove that it's possible to have a fun, clean romance without all the smut. I thought they were all well-developed for being so short. Of course, I would have loved them to be full-length, but I was completely satisfied.

flicks, and romance novels. After meeting her husband online, she is now
living happily married in Southern California with her growing family
and a series of doomed houseplants. Melanie is a former English teacher
and a popular speaker who loves to laugh and make others laugh. In her
down time (ha!), she writes romantic comedies for Covenant and maintains
her humorous slice-of-life blog.
Jennifer K. Clark lives in the small rural town in Wellington
Utah. After a decade of entertaining her husband and three children with
infamous, fictitious stories, she decided to put her imagination to
good use and became an author. She likes to add a touch of romance to
her novels along with a healthy dose of adventure. Fueled by Lindt
Chocolate Truffles and Sour Patch Kids, she now spends a copious amount
of time with the characters in her head. In her spare time she likes to
create science experiments with the ingredients in her potions cupboard,
debate which Doctor is her favorite (it's a toss-up between the 10th
and 11th), and--when she has time--watches the A&E version of Pride
and Prejudice.
She loves reading, writing, and watching movies--anything that transports her to another world. She picks Captain Wentworth over Mr. Darcy, firmly believes in second breakfast, and never leaves home without her verveine.
