She’s a big-city corporate hot-shot who’s lucky in business, but unlucky in love. He’s a handsome small-town hero who’s all heart but has a secret. Can he melt her icy exterior, and restore her faith in a happily-ever-after—or is she forever doomed to spend Christmas alone?

Revé Chatham sure knows how to pick 'em. After two failed engagements, she thought she finally found “the one,” only to have another promising relationship end—this time in a very public disaster just before the holidays. Now she despairs of ever having her heart's desire—a kiss that takes her breath away, from a man who truly loves her and wants to build a future with her.

Faced with a choice between spending Christmas in India with nosy family members—who will no doubt rehash her failed love life—or in warm, smoggy LA alone, Revé goes with a third option. She leaves the big city behind for a small-town holiday getaway. It’s the perfect way to quietly put the pieces of her heart back together.

Of course, she doesn’t count on meeting Logan Redmond. Kind-hearted, genuine, and ruggedly handsome, the more time she spends with the cowboy charmer, the more she remembers who she really is, and what Christmas is really all about. She begins to fall for him, but catches herself just in time. Their worlds are too different, and she can’t trust her own judgment.

Will she play it safe, and go back to her lonely city life, or risk her heart once again for the future she longs for?
My Review: 4 Stars

I love a story with some unique qualities. After witnessing a devastating scene involving her almost fiance, Revé decides that a trip to New Mexico for Christmas is in order, instead of her traditional trek with her family to India, to spend the holiday with her extended family. And let's not forget that it's Revé whose family is very well off--but you'd never know it.

When Revé and her friend, Carmen, literally bump into Logan, everything changes. I really enjoyed the classic events that revolved around the Christmas celebrations in this desert town. I loved the established routines that Revé fell into so easily and naturally. But most of all, I loved the sudden romantic current that develops, and especially the role that The Princess Bride played in making those sparks fan into a flame.

This is another Hallmark Christmas movie kind of book!

Content: mild romance (kissing, vague cheating)
