I have a famous secret, but it's not the biggest one I keep.

From an outside view, my life would be the definition of boring. I'm married to a landscaper, albeit a very attractive one, I drive an old cheap car, and I write articles for an online magazine. So, maybe I've been a constant fixture on the New York Times Best Sellers list for the last few years, but that secret is locked safely in my attic.

Here's a word of advice. If you want to keep a secret, don't tease your mother-in-law about what's in that attic, especially when her life goal is to save her son from you. Now that my famous secret is out, past acquaintances willing to do anything to get their own fifteen minutes of fame are lying to the media about me. But my biggest problem isn't the lies in the press, it's the truth I'm forced to face. The secret I've kept from everyone, even my husband, the man I love, the first person who made me feel like I belonged somewhere.

Now I have no other choice but to tell the truth and face my biggest fear, that Peter and I were never meant to be together and my secrets could take him away too.

My Review: 5 Stars

Oh, my stars, Jennifer Peel! Way to make me cry my eyes out! I'm not a big crier, but this author tapped right into my very emotional week and knew exactly what heartstrings to pull and tug. Perfection!

Delanie is so opposite from Peter, yet they mesh better than peanut butter and jelly. Their palpable chemistry is so yummy and I loved their sacrifices and united front. Of course, every couple weathers at least one hurricane and Delanie and Peter aren't exempt. This author does an incredible job of enchanting the reader and drawing them completely into the story. There are some hard things in these pages, I'm not going to lie, but I rooted and cheered for the ending that I wanted and it wasn't quite what I expected.

It takes talent to bring characters to life in a way like this. I couldn't get enough; I couldn't put it down; and I didn't want to let this story and these people go. The emotions are high and intense and the secrets are massive, but the strong friendships and relationships mean everything. I want friends like these!

My final take on The Secretive Wife is to stop, drop everything, and clear your schedule because this amazing story needs to be read right away.

Content: moderate romance (kissing, innuendo, closed door and implied premarital sex); mild language
