From the Power of the Matchmaker series:
Every time Andra Stone crosses paths with Everett Covington, trouble follows. First she loses her scholarship. Then she loses the apartment she’d wanted more than anything. But tragedy hits hardest when she loses her grandmother—the best friend Andra has ever known. She determines that Everett is a talisman of ill fortune. When Everett comes to work in her hospital and is applying for the same position she’d been working toward since residency, Andra believes him to be her personal poltergeist.
The human heart has four chambers—four chances to get it right. Andra has only one chance left.

My Review: 5 Stars
This is another fantastic addition to the Matchmaker series. Each book can stand alone and has a common, minor character--Pearl, the matchmaker.
This book is near and dear to my heart. Andra is a medical student with the goal of becoming a heart surgeon. Her path crosses multiple times along her journey with Everett, a fellow med student. And every time it does, trouble follows. My daughter has similar dreams and I could almost see her future unfolding as I read this book, which is one reason why it touched me so much.
Andra is a very committed, competitive, and determined woman. She will do whatever it takes to climb to the top. At times, she's almost ruthless, but she isn't heartless. Everett is very similar, yet he has a way of infusing fun into his quest for the top. Pearl has to work extra hard with these two, as they both have somewhat dysfunctional families and are workaholics.
This story immediately caught my attention and drew me in emotionally. I couldn't believe how invested I was in the ups and downs of these characters. I adored them, wanted to yell at them at times, and cheered in their successes. The characters, symbolism, and story line are all very powerful and are written in binding ways.
I would recommend this to those who enjoy this series or readers who love a good, emotional story.
Content: mild romance (kissing). Clean!
