My Review:
What do a blogging cancer survivor, rock star, wedding planner, data analyst, undercover agent, chef, school teacher, author, and agent have in common? They all have hidden identities. I love how each short story has a character with a secret identity. Just as the title claims, these stories are sweet and sassy, each with a different spin on how and why someone could pretend to be someone or something else. So much fun!
I really enjoyed each story and as usual with these anthologies, it's hard for me to choose a favorite. Each author has a unique style and it really spices the book up--it definitely never got boring. I couldn't help but connect to the characters in Closing Time. I think everyone has had a blind date at one time or another and it really stinks when it results in being stood up. It was so sweet of Will to want to spare Kelsey the pain of feeling rejected. I also really enjoyed the setting of Write and Wrong. Bear Lake/Montpelier/Paris, ID are places where I vacationed a lot growing up and I could visualize it well. A big chunk of the setting took place in a library and as an avid book lover, that was great!
Each story has a sweet, clean romance with just enough spark to give me butterflies. Although they're all short, they are developed enough to satisfy a reader and can be read a story at a time or devoured all at once. I would definitely recommend this book to all contemporary, clean romance lovers!
Content: mild romance (kissing; one story mentions sex, but the characters do not engage); mild language (two stories have one or two mild swear words); no violence; no religious elements. Clean!
