Friday Favorites: Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

Friday Favorites is a weekly meme hosted here
that spotlights a favorite author, book, series, publisher, cover, blog, etc. Basically whatever bookish thing that I love, recommend, and want to tell others about. Anyone is welcome to join along.

I've been thinking a lot about my growing up years and I remember
how much I feel in love with Anne of Green Gables. Is anyone
else with me? I loved that sweet romance, that blossomed
gradually over years and just couldn't
get enough of it. In fact, I wanted the whole set so
badly for my birthday, but my sister got it!
Luckily, she let me borrow her books and fell
in love with them just as much as I did. The wit, the humor,
the dialogue... If you haven't read this,
it's a must!!

Give it up for a great classic -- Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

As soon as Anne Shirley arrived at the snug,  white farmhouse called Green Gables, she knew she  wanted to stay forever... but would the Cuthberts  send her back to the orphanage? Anne knows she's not  what they expected -- a skinny girl with decidedly  red hair and a temper to match. If only she could  convince them to let her stay, she'd try very hard  not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes or blurt  out the very first thing she had to say. Anne was  not like anybody else, everyone at Green Gables  agreed; she was special -- a girl with an enormous  imagination. This orphan girl dreamed of the day  when she could call herself Anne of Green Gables.
