Stacking the Shelves #8

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. This is my chance to share the books I'm adding to my shelves--both physical copies and ebooks.

What I've Bought:
Fourth of July by Cami Checketts
An attack on American soil is just the beginning. When eight parade floats explode during the annual Fourth of July celebrations, Agent Chris Harmer must find who planted the bombs before the terrorists strike again. His troubles aren't isolated to terrorism. Chris falls in love with the FBI's feisty psychiatrist, Alexis Osborne. She won't commit to someone who doesn't share her religious values, and Chris has no desire to convert.

Frogs & Toads by Stacy Lynn Carroll
One kiss can change the future...for better or for worse. Belle and her cousins have conquered their fears. Now as they navigate their way through the dating world, they start to see a "happily ever after" on the horizon. But when an unexpected school assignment forces them to examine their past, the Princess sisters realize they have a lot of questions about the fathers they've never met. Secrets are revealed, long lost family members are discovered, and now the girls must decide who belongs in their future and who should be kept in the past.

Wild Hearts by Heather Tullis
Special price only through May 24th--only 99 cents! Delphi Gifford has nearly given up on finding someone she could love as much as her dead husband, Fallon, who had died while they were still in college. Certainly local photographer Jeremy Litster wasn't at the top of her list, egomaniac that he is--even if he did drive the hottest racing motorbike she'd ever touched. Jeremy knew George DiCarlo had hand-picked him to marry Delphi, but hadn't counted on her not being in the loop. After working together for six months, though, he seriously regrets his misstep and begins a careful campaign to win her over. When someone tries to take the two of them out, he has to figure out what they did or saw that put them both in danger.

Discovering Sophie by Cindy Roland Anderson
Sophie Kendrick’s father has gone missing in the jungles of Costa Rica. Desperate for answers to his whereabouts, she decides to search for him herself. She hires Jack Mathison to guide her through the jungle, but the two of them seem to be at odds from the moment they meet. Sophie finds Jack conceited, sarcastic and, worse, very good-looking. He is totally not her type, so how could she possibly be attracted to him? Likewise, Jack can’t wait to be rid of Sophie and her optimistic outlook. Seriously, how could someone be that nice? Jack isn’t looking for a relationship, and finds the electrifying chemistry between the two of them completely annoying. His job is to lead Sophie to a remote village deep inside the rainforest—her father’s last known location. Still, the jungle is a dangerous place and Jack does everything in his power to protect Sophie, but who will protect his heart?

Sweet Confections by Danyelle Ferguson
According to Rachel Marconi chocolate heals all wounds. That and throwing darts at pictures of her ex-boyfriend. Burned by yet another bad relationship, Rachel decides to reprioritize her life, putting her dream to compete on a Food Network Challenge on the top of her list and dating at the bottom crossed out in red sharpie. But what’s a girl to do when a certain sexy guy keeps asking her out? Cue in Graydon Green, a former pro hockey player turned restaurant owner. After a lot of persistent and humorous teasing, he finally convinces Rachel to commit to a date. Just when things begin to warm up, threatening notes directed at Rachel arrive. When her bakery is vandalized, Graydon’s protective streak goes on red alert. Is it her obsessive ex-boyfriend stalking her? Or maybe a challenger trying to sabotage the competition? Either way, Rachel is definitely going to need more chocolate – perhaps drizzled over ice cream and devil’s food cake.

For Review:
Prom Impossible by Laura Pauling
1 girl + 1 prom + 3 guys = Prom Impossible! Prom Impossible is a romantic comedy in the world of teens, true love, and life. Cassidy decides her senior year, including prom, will be about Michael, the boy destined to be her soul mate. One problem. He hasn't figured that out yet. But certain events meant as innocent pranks (that weren't completely her fault) introduce her to Zeke, the reformed bad boy. And cutting deals in the boys' bathroom with Jasper, the hottest guy in school, lands her in a complicated web of half-truths. At the end of the year, she's dateless the day before the big night and risks losing the real thing right in front of her if she can't fix her mistakes.

Skiing with Santa by Roz Marshall

Will his naughty and nice pupils help this reluctant Father Christmas to face his ghosts and discover the quintessence of the season? A Dream for Hogmanay by Roz Marshall
It's Hogmanay in White Cairns, and cuddly, bubbly ski instructor Debbie Easton is hoping that she might meet Mr Right - or even Mr Okay - at the 'Hogmanay Hooley' for a kiss at midnight which will start 2006 in the way she'd like it to continue. But her naivety is nearly her undoing and her dreamy New Year's kiss isn't quite as she imagined it might be... "The beginning was decent, the middle was good, and the ending was great!" "We follow the guys out for the night to celebrate Hogmanay (New Year). It turns out to be a very eventful night indeed, with a hint of romance thrown in there to tantalise. I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads."
